Perfect Household Staff is pleased to introduce a wonderful opportunity for a professional and experienced part-time housekeeper/cook to support a welcoming family residing in Reading, Berkshire. The family consists of two parents and their three teenage. They are seeking a dependable and trustworthy individual who enjoys maintaining a well-ordered home and takes pride in delivering a consistently high standard of domestic care. The household is busy but harmonious, and the family are looking for someone child- and pet-friendly, discrete, and with excellent professional references.
Reading is a lively and well-connected town, offering excellent transport links and a wide range of amenities, making this live-out role easily accessible via public transport. With its vibrant community and proximity to green spaces, Reading is an ideal base for those seeking long-term part-time employment in a respectful and appreciative private household.
We are searching for a dedicated and proactive housekeeper/cook who enjoys working independently and in a team with another housekeeper and takes genuine pleasure in household work. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organisational skills, a strong work ethic, and a sincere interest in providing high-quality support to a busy family. The role will involve general housekeeping duties and the preparation of simple, healthy meals. A love for dogs is essential as the family has two affectionate Hungarian Vizslas who are considered a much-loved part of the household.

Job Details:
- Working Days: Monday - Friday
- Working Hours: 18 hours per week
- Salary: £23 – £25 gross per hour

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- General housekeeping: cleaning, vacuuming, dusting, mopping and maintaining order throughout the home
- Caring for marble, wood and antiques
- Laundry and ironing for the family, including changing bed linens
- Preparing simple, healthy meals for five family members
- Ensuring the kitchen and food preparation areas are clean and organised
- Running light household errands
- Walking and caring for the family’s two Hungarian Vizslas
- Maintaining a discreet and respectful presence within the household
- Covering the Christmas holiday period when possible
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant private housekeeping and cooking experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Conversational level of English
