Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a lovely long-term opportunity for a professional Housekeeper / Nanny to join a welcoming private household in the charming town of Ashford, Kent. This role offers a harmonious balance of childcare and housekeeping responsibilities within a well-structured and supportive family environment.
The family is seeking a reliable, warm, and proactive candidate to assist with the care of two young children aged two and four, alongside maintaining the household to a high standard. This is a stable, long-term position with the potential to remain for many years.
The role is Monday to Friday, from 2:00pm until 7:00pm, offering 25 hours per week, with an immediate start available.
From 2:00pm to 4:00pm, the candidate will focus on housekeeping duties within the home. Tasks will be organised in line with the household’s priorities, agreed collaboratively with the client, allowing for a structured yet flexible approach to maintaining the home.
At 4:00pm, the Housekeeper / Nanny will collect the children from school. From approximately 4:45pm onwards, the role transitions into childcare, ensuring the children are safe, happy, and well cared for until the parents return at around 7:00pm.
The candidate will prepare simple, child-friendly meals such as pasta dishes, soups, omelettes, baked potatoes, or similar light meals when required. Cooking is not needed every day, as the mother will sometimes prepare food in advance. The role includes serving meals, encouraging the children to eat, and maintaining a tidy kitchen afterwards.
During school holidays, the position will continue at five hours per day, maintaining a consistent and well-balanced combination of housekeeping and childcare responsibilities. The children may spend time playing in the garden, where the candidate will ensure their safety and supervision.
The ideal candidate will be a confident and careful driver with their own car, as school collection forms part of the daily routine. Petrol expenses will be reimbursed. Previous experience in a similar combined role is highly desirable.

Live Out Housekeeper / Nanny duties will include:
- Maintaining the cleanliness and overall organisation of the home
- Carrying out housekeeping tasks in line with agreed household priorities
- Collecting the children from school and ensuring safe transportation
- Supervising and caring for the children in a calm and attentive manner
- Preparing simple, child-friendly meals when required (e.g. pasta dishes, soups, omelettes, baked potatoes)
- Serving meals and encouraging positive eating habits
- Cleaning and maintaining the kitchen after meal preparation
- Engaging the children in age-appropriate and stimulating activities
- Supervising outdoor play and ensuring the children’s safety at all times
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper / Nanny job:
- Proven childcare experience with young children
- Confident and careful driver with own car
- Experience with school runs and child transportation
- Valid DBS certificate
- Strong references
- Good command of English
