This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position requiring the successful candidate to work five days per week, with two consecutive days off. Whilst the typical schedule is Monday to Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the precise working days may be adjusted upon mutual agreement with the client, providing a degree of flexibility.
The principal responsibility will be the preparation of nutritious, dairy-free evening meals, crafted to suit the family's dietary preferences and lifestyle. A strong focus is placed on Asian cuisine, with particular preference for candidates experienced in Chinese and Korean culinary traditions. Familiarity with Italian, Mediterranean, and other international cuisines will be regarded as highly desirable, provided the chef can tailor dishes in accordance with the family’s nutritional and flavour preferences.
Most of the time, the chef will be preparing meals for two adults only (the principals). However, the family occasionally entertains guests, typically one to four individuals, a few times per month. Guest meals are expected no more than once per week on average.
The successful applicant will be a professionally trained private chef with a strong background in delivering high-end, bespoke meals within private households. The position requires an individual capable of managing kitchen operations autonomously, demonstrating exceptional standards in both food presentation and hygiene.
Although ingredients are typically sourced by the client, the private chef may be required to coordinate or carry out online grocery shopping to ensure the timely availability of all necessary produce and speciality items. The role includes full dinner service, table clearing, and comprehensive kitchen cleaning each evening.
The household maintains a “shoes-off” policy and values cleanliness, discretion, and cultural sensitivity. There are two cats in residence, though no animal care duties are required.

Main Duties of the Part-Time Private Chef:
- Planning and preparing healthy, dairy-free evening meals
- Designing menus based on Chinese, Korean, Italian, Mediterranean, and broader Asian cuisine
- Serving the table and managing all aspects of dinner service
- Clearing and sanitising the kitchen following each service
- Maintaining exceptional hygiene standards and food safety practices
- Managing online food shopping where required, to ensure timely availability of ingredients
- Respecting household routines, dietary restrictions, and cultural preferences
- Providing discreet, efficient service in a private residential setting
- Pet-friendly (two cats on the premises – no pet care involved)
Requirements for this Private Cook Job:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in private cooking roles
- Strong checkable references
- UK working permit
- DBS check
- Fluency in English
