This role would suit a flexible and discreet couple with a strong background working in private residences and a high level of initiative.

Hale-Barnes is a desirable location in Greater Manchester, known for its excellent transport links, picturesque surroundings, and proximity to both countryside and the city of Manchester. The principals—two lovely and respectful individuals—are seeking a long-term domestic couple who will take pride in their work and contribute to the smooth and efficient running of the home.

This is a live-in position offering 40 working hours per week across five days, with flexibility required around scheduling. Occasional weekend work will be necessary, with days off during the week provided accordingly. The accommodation consists of a private bedroom with an en suite bathroom located on a separate floor, ensuring privacy and comfort.

A driving licence is essential, and driving experience is required. An automatic vehicle will be provided for use during working hours, primarily for driving the principal to and from work. The family also owns two mini poodles, so basic pet care will be required, including feeding and the occasional walk.

The principals are looking for a domestic couple who are not only highly experienced and dependable, but also willing to accompany them to their second residence in Italy for up to one month annually. The ability to travel and provide consistent support while abroad is a valued aspect of this role.

Main duties of the Full-Time Domestic Couple:

• General housekeeping: dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the home
• Laundry and wardrobe management
• Occasional grocery shopping
• Cooking lunch regularly, and preparing all three meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) one day per week when the chef is off
• Preparing simple, nutritious meals such as pasta, salads, lasagne, etc.
• Driving the principal to and from work using the household’s automatic vehicle
• Ensuring the vehicle is kept clean, fuelled, and roadworthy
• Handling minor household maintenance (e.g., lightbulb changes, monitoring plumbing and electrics)
• Basic pet care for two mini poodles: feeding, water, and occasional walks
• Willingness to travel with the principals to their property in Italy for up to one month annually

Requirements for this Full-Time Domestic Couple job:

• Three or more years of private live-in couple experience
• Two excellent, checkable references
• Conversational level of English
• Legal right to work in the UK
• Full driving licence
