Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a professional and dedicated domestic couple to join a highly regarded private household located in Sawbridgeworth, Hertfordshire. This full-time, live-in position is ideal for a couple with proven experience working together in HNW or UHNW homes who are seeking a long-term, stable role with excellent working conditions.

The principals are respectful, discreet, and highly appreciative of staff who demonstrate loyalty, initiative, and attention to detail. They are in residence approximately 45–50 days per year, typically in 1–2 week intervals. When the principals are on site, working hours will be adapted to suit their needs and may include evenings and weekends. Any additional hours worked during these periods will be compensated with time off in lieu once the household returns to its quieter routine.

The appointed couple will be responsible for a wide range of duties including housekeeping, healthy family-style cooking, driving, vehicle maintenance, liaison with tenants at the nearby industrial estate, and occasional security oversight. The role requires excellent communication and coordination with the wider team of housekeeping, grounds, office, and security personnel.

The role offers a spacious and private two-bedroom apartment on the estate with all utility bills included. The couple will only be responsible for their own food. In addition, the position includes 20 days of annual leave (with flexibility to take time off when the principals are away), healthcare, and enrolment in a pension scheme. Please note that the accommodation is designated for the couple only – no children or pets are permitted.

Main duties of the Full-Time Domestic Couple:

Cooking healthy and nutritious meals including fresh juices, smoothies, salads, and well-balanced dishes
Confidently preparing and presenting meals with an understanding of various cuisines and dietary needs
Grocery shopping and household provisioning
Silver service when required; working alongside external chefs during events
Daily housekeeping and laundry duties, maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness
Guest room preparation and support with entertaining
Multitasking and managing duties independently and efficiently
Liaising closely with household and estate staff to ensure seamless operations
Chauffeuring principals during their UK stays, including early mornings and late evenings
Overseeing a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles, ensuring all are regularly started, maintained, and kept clean
Ensuring all cars are well-stocked with essentials (e.g. bottled water, phone chargers)
Acting as primary point of contact for tenants at a nearby industrial estate
Managing tenant enquiries and resolving issues promptly and professionally
Responding to emergency callouts outside standard working hours when necessary
Overseeing security of the residence when the primary security team is not present
Supporting general estate operations in coordination with the wider team

Requirements for this Full-Time Domestic Couple job:

Three or more years of private live-in couple experience
Two excellent, checkable references
Conversational level of English
Legal right to work in the UK
Full driving licence
