We are looking for an experienced Domestic Couple to take on a long-term role overseeing the maintenance and care of a beautiful country house in Leicestershire.

The employers, a couple with multiple residences, are seeking individuals with a history of working in private households and a strong attention to detail. The Couple will be in charge of keeping the house in top condition and may also be asked to help care for the owners' dogs. They will report to the Estate Manager and must be skilled in time management, working Monday to Friday with compensation for any extra hours.
Accommodation in a 6-bedroom village house will be provided, including council tax and utilities but excluding internet, TV license, and additional TV services. Candidates without pets are preferred.

Housekeeper Duties:
- Clean and maintain antiques, art, glass, and china
- Arrange flowers from the estate's glasshouse and gardens
- Order and replenish household supplies as required
- Assist in serving during guest entertainment events
- Fulfill other duties as instructed by the Estate Manager
- Conduct follow-up cleaning after contractor work
- Coordinate with the Estate Manager as needed
- Perform all housekeeping tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning bathrooms and living areas
- Support the Chef in the kitchen and handle grocery deliveries as needed
- Prepare for seasonal deep cleans in advance
- Optionally, assist with light cooking when the Chef is off-duty
- Manage household laundry, bed linens, and delicate materials with care
- Handle ironing, bed making, and wardrobe management
Houseman Duties:
- Conduct general household maintenance and DIY tasks
- Assist the Housekeeper with indoor tasks
- Serve at the table during the principal's meals or entertaining events, both formal and informal
- Handle basic internal duties such as changing bulbs
- Clean internal and lower ground floor external windows, and maintain the main house and outbuildings
- Prepare and clean house fires for arrivals
- Perform lawn mowing and general weeding, providing support to Gardeners as needed
- Undertake general outdoor tasks within the Estate according to instructions
- Fulfill driving duties as requested, with a clean driving license required
- Ensure on-site vehicles are prepared for service and kept clean
- Collaborate with the Estate Manager and offer assistance as necessary
- Clean brass and silver items when needed
- Carry out errands as assigned. Provide airport pickups as directed by the Estate Manager
- Perform general DIY and light repairs
- Utilise the provided car for work-related travel
Requirements:
- Outstanding references
- At least 3 years of experience as a Housekeeping Couple
- Capable of adapting to change and willing to maintain a flexible, can-do approach
- Effective team players
- Motivated, trustworthy, cooperative, and dependable
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and email communication
- Housekeeping Couple must be ready to travel within the UK or abroad as necessary
- Responsible for managing alarms and responding to alerts
- Previous familiarity with alarms and household systems, including IT and AV systems, is advantageous
- A discreet Couple with a positive outlook who value their work
