Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an excellent opportunity for a professional, kind, and proactive Housekeeper to join a welcoming family based in the prestigious town of Ascot, Berkshire. The household comprises two adult principals and two school-aged children, aged 10 and 11, living in a beautifully maintained two-storey, five-bedroom family home. The principals are seeking a trustworthy Housekeeper with an excellent eye for detail who can become a dependable second adult within the household, taking genuine ownership of the home's presentation and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of family life. The family value long-term relationships with their household staff and are looking for someone who is equally committed to building a stable, long-term position.
This is a permanent, part-time, live-out position working Monday to Friday from 4:00 pm until 9:00 pm, offering 25 hours per week on a self-employed basis. The hours are fixed and provide a clear and consistent routine. While the property is accessible, a driving licence and own car are highly desirable due to the location and the occasional need to run household errands. Working as a Housekeeper within this household involves maintaining high housekeeping standards while ensuring the home remains organised, welcoming, and fully prepared for the family each day. Alongside housekeeping, laundry, wardrobe organisation, and household stock management, the role includes assistance with simple family-style meal prep, including preparing breakfast in advance for the following morning, occasional babysitting, and acting as a reassuring second adult within the home whenever required.
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining exceptionally high standards of cleanliness throughout the home managing laundry and ironing, organising wardrobes and household storage, accepting deliveries, replenishing household supplies, liaising with maintenance contractors, and reporting maintenance issues. The role also includes preparing simple breakfasts in advance for the following morning, assisting with basic family meal preparation, and providing occasional babysitting for the family's two children when the principals are unavailable. Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Maintaining high standards of daily housekeeping and scheduled deep cleaning throughout a five-bedroom family home
- Full laundry management, including washing, ironing, linen care, and basic wardrobe organisation
- Folding, putting away clothing, and seasonal wardrobe organisation
- Changing and rotating bed linen and towels
- Organising cupboards, kitchen storage, and household spaces
- Accepting deliveries, unpacking groceries, and ensuring household supplies remain fully stocked
- Monitoring household inventory and replenishing cleaning products and everyday essentials
- Reporting maintenance issues and liaising with contractors when required
- Making simple family meal preparation and advance breakfast preparation for the following morning
- Providing occasional babysitting support for two children aged 10 and 11 when required
- Maintaining immaculate presentation throughout all living areas, bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchen
- Working proactively, independently, and acting as a reliable second adult within the household
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper:
- Minimum of 3 years of private housekeeping experience
- Two excellent, checkable references
- Proficient level of English
- Legal right to work in the UK
- Own car is essential
