Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present an exceptional opportunity for a professional and highly organised live-out housekeeper to join a welcoming family at Stratfield Saye Park, Reading. The household is substantial, featuring eight bedrooms and a separate children’s cottage. The family employs a nanny, gardener, and personal assistant, and the successful candidate will work collaboratively with this team to ensure the property is maintained to the highest standard. The family has two young children, aged two years and a newborn, though childcare is fully managed by the nanny.
Stratfield Saye Park is famously the residence of the Duke of Wellington, offering a unique and historic setting for the right candidate. Stratfield Saye Park itself is set in a tranquil and historic estate, offering a refined and peaceful working environment. The location provides excellent access to London and the surrounding Berkshire and Hampshire areas, making it easily accessible by public transport for live-out candidates.
This live-out position offers the opportunity to work in a professional household environment where discretion, attention to detail, and a proactive approach are highly valued. Typical responsibilities for a housekeeper in such a household include maintaining cleanliness and organisation throughout the property, occasionally assisting with basic family cooking, ironing (with all laundry outsourced), and liaising with contractors during planned renovation projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to maintain close communication with the household team, monitor supplies, and ensure the property runs smoothly at all times. As the property is scheduled for refurbishment in the coming months, the ability to liaise with contractors and adapt to temporary changes is essential.

Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Daily cleaning and organisation of the eight-bedroom property and children’s cottage
- Maintaining presentation and tidiness throughout the home
- Occasional ironing (laundry outsourced)
- Occasional basic cooking and assistance with family meals
- Liaising with contractors during renovation works
- Collaborating closely with the nanny, gardener, and personal assistant
- Monitoring, replenishing, and managing household supplies
- Maintaining high standards of discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality
Requirements for this Full -Time Housekeeper job:
- 3 years of relevant experience
- Flexibility to cover weekends when required
- Checkable references
- UK working permit
