The position is offered on a long-term, permanent basis and is particularly suited to a candidate who is self-motivated, experienced in private households, and possesses a genuine love for dogs. The primary responsibility will be the attentive care of two cherished French Bulldogs, ensuring their needs are consistently met with warmth and reliability. The dogs belong to a senior executive and are considered an integral part of the family, thus requiring a housekeeper with both confidence and affection in handling small breeds.
General housekeeping support is also required, with duties including laundry, care of fine clothing and linens, dry cleaning coordination, dishwashing, light household organisation, shopping, and errand-running. It is important to note that the property benefits from the regular attendance of two professional cleaners who visit twice weekly to carry out full cleaning, allowing the housekeeper to focus on maintenance between visits and household management. The principals own two additional residences and do not reside in the Peterborough property full time, though the house must remain in excellent order at all times. They travel frequently and lead busy professional lives, and therefore value staff who are discreet, proactive, and capable of working independently.
The successful candidate may occasionally be asked to prepare simple, healthy evening meals—typically traditional British cuisine—for the principals. A flexible approach to working hours is essential, with pet care support required on both Saturdays and Sundays, though not for the full day.
Applicants must be fluent in English.
A current DBS is essential. A driving licence is a bonus, and a car may be provided for work-related duties if the candidate drives. The role may be offered either on an employed or self-employed basis, depending on the candidate's preference.

Main duties of the Full-Time Live-in Housekeeper:
- Providing dedicated daily care for two French Bulldogs, including feeding, walking, companionship, and general wellbeing
- Maintaining a consistently high standard of cleanliness and organisation throughout the property in coordination with two professional cleaners who attend twice per week
- Managing household laundry, including care of fine garments and linens, as well as dry cleaning coordination
- Performing light household tasks such as dishwashing, general tidying, and overseeing household supplies
- Running errands and shopping for household essentials as required
- Occasional preparation of simple, healthy evening meals, primarily traditional British cuisine
- Monitoring and maintaining the household in the absence of the principals, ensuring readiness at all times
- Providing flexible weekend support, especially for pet care on Saturdays and Sundays (not full days)
- Supporting overall household management with a proactive and discreet approach
- Acting as a reliable and trustworthy presence within the home, especially when the principals are away
- (If applicable) Driving for errands and appointments, with the possibility of a car being provided for work-related use
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper job:
