Job Overview:
A warm and welcoming household in Bampton, Tiverton, is searching for a professional live-in part-time housekeeper to join them on a permanent basis. The family consists of two principals who lead a calm lifestyle and are seeking a reliable and long-term addition to their home.
Bampton is a charming village located in Devon, offering a peaceful environment with easy access to Tiverton and nearby towns. The area provides a strong sense of community, scenic countryside walks, and convenient amenities.
The role requires around 30 hours per week over five days, with flexibility in scheduling. The housekeeper will be responsible for maintaining the family’s well-presented home, which contains valuable antique furniture and delicate surfaces requiring careful attention. The successful candidate will also support with occasional, very simple cooking such as preparing a sandwich or pasta meal when required.
An important aspect of the position is caring for the principals’ three small and friendly dogs – a Pugapoo and two Brussels Griffons. Duties include feeding, walking, and ensuring the dogs are happy and well looked after. The candidate must be pet-friendly and comfortable with animals in the home.
The family is seeking someone calm, trustworthy, and hands-on, with a positive attitude and the ability to work independently. As children and grandchildren visit occasionally, the housekeeper should also be child-friendly.
Accommodation is provided in a private one-bedroom cottage with its own kitchen, bathroom, and living space. After an initial settling-in period, the candidate will be welcome to have guests. A driving licence would be a bonus, and an automatic car will be available for errands. The role includes a formal contract, standard holiday entitlement (20 days plus bank holidays), and offers stability within a respectful and supportive household. In addition to the accomodation the employer will also include food for the housekeeper, so the successful candidate will not be required to cover any food expenses.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:
- General housekeeping including cleaning, dusting, hoovering, and polishing
- Laundry, ironing, and wardrobe management
- Care of antique furniture and delicate household items
- Stock management and household provisioning
- Occasional simple cooking (e.g. sandwich or pasta)
- Dog care, including feeding, walking, and ensuring wellbeing of three small dogs
- Running local errands when required (car provided)
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper job:
