The household consists of two adult principals who have recently welcomed a baby and are now seeking professional support to assist with the smooth running of their five-bedroom home.
The family values a calm, well-maintained household environment and are looking for a self-motivated professional who can take initiative and confidently manage daily domestic tasks without constant supervision. Brentwood is a highly desirable area of Essex, known for its leafy residential streets, family-friendly atmosphere, and excellent transport links to London, making it a pleasant and accessible location for commuting.
This is a live-out, part-time position offered for three working days per week, totalling approximately 15 hours. The property is conveniently located within a walking distance from a Shenfield station. Working as a Housekeeper / Cook in this household requires a proactive approach, strong organisational skills, and clear communication with the principals. The successful candidate will support the upkeep of the home through regular cleaning, laundry, and ironing duties, with particular attention to baby laundry. In addition to housekeeping, the role also involves preparing fresh, comforting family dinners, including meal preparation and occasional batch cooking, as well as preparing simple snacks for the week such as home baking.
Key responsibilities include maintaining the overall cleanliness and organisation of the five-bedroom property through regular cleaning and occasional deep cleaning, managing laundry and ironing to a high standard, assisting with basic wardrobe organisation, and supporting the household with occasional shopping or running errands when required.
The Housekeeper / Cook will also be responsible for preparing wholesome home-style dinners for the family, focusing on fresh ingredients and practical weekly meal preparation.
The role would suit a professional who takes pride in maintaining a well-presented home environment and who naturally notices what needs to be done without requiring detailed instruction. This is a self-employed position.

Main duties of this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook:
- Maintaining the overall cleanliness and presentation of the five-bedroom home
- Performing daily housekeeping duties including cleaning, hoovering, dusting, and general tidying
- Laundry and ironing to a high standard, including careful handling of baby laundry
- Occasional deep cleaning of household areas as required
- Basic wardrobe organisation and clothing care
- Preparing fresh daily family dinners using wholesome, home-style recipes
- Meal preparation and occasional batch cooking to support the household during the week
- Preparing simple homemade snacks, including occasional baking
- Running occasional household errands and assisting with light shopping when required
- Supporting the overall organisation and smooth running of the household
Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper/Cook job:
- Three of more years of private Housekeeper experience
- Two excellent checkable references
- Conversational English
- Valid UK working permit
