Perfect Household Staff is delighted to present a job opportunity for a live-out, part-time Housekeeper. A warm British family of four residing in a compact 5-storey townhouse in Notting Hill, West London, is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to join their household on a part-time basis. The family consists of two working parents and their two young daughters (aged 4 and 5), as well as a friendly family cat. Notting Hill is a vibrant neighbourhood, once home to 19th-century pottery kilns and now celebrated for its elegant architecture and creative spirit. The area also hosts the world-famous Notting Hill Carnival, adding a colourful cultural flair to its leafy streets.
This is a permanent position best suited to someone proactive, discreet, and self-motivated, who is comfortable working independently and has experience caring for homes with multiple floors. A successful candidate will need to be confident navigating multiple flights of stairs, and capable of working independently with initiative. A strong focus is placed on maintaining pristine interiors, especially in bathrooms, kitchen along with thoughtful attention to laundry, and ironing.
The property features only 2 living spaces. A long-standing part-time nanny supports afternoon childcare; this role is focused exclusively on housekeeping and household care.
The home also features a private garden, terrace, and a front driveway, which require daily outdoor sweeping and weekly washing and maintenance. Surfaces such as brass fittings and light fixtures must be handled with appropriate care and cleaning methods.

Job Details:

- Working Hours: 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM (4 hours/day, 20 hours/week)

Main Duties & Responsibilities:
- General cleaning of the home (including dusting, hoovering, tidying)
- Daily upkeep of high-traffic areas including the kitchen, playroom, and bathrooms
- Specialist care of brass fixtures and other high-end finishes (training or instruction will be provided)
- Sweeping and cleaning of the front drive, rear garden, and terrace (daily sweeping and weekly washing)
- Laundry management for household linens and children’s clothing (sorting whites, lights, and darks)
- Ironing and wardrobe organisation for the children
- Changing and refreshing bed linens and towels
- Light meal preparation on occasion (basic or once-weekly support if the principal is unavailable)
- Occasional assistance with feeding the family cat and ensuring its area remains tidy
- Basic tidying and dusting in the small home office
Minimum Requirements:
- 3+ years in a private household
- UK work permit
- Excellent checkable references
- Able to work independently and manage daily tasks without supervision
- Friendly, polite, and approachable, yet respectful of professional boundaries
- Someone who is trustworthy, discreet, and genuinely enjoys working in a family setting
