The ideal candidate will be responsible for performing classical housekeeping duties, including washing dishes, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, ironing, putting clothes away, and managing general tidying and organisation throughout the home. Additional responsibilities will include hoovering, dusting, and ensuring the property remains well-kept at all times.

The working hours for this position are set as Monday and Friday, 6 hours each day, with the flexibility to work 1-2 additional days per week for 5-6 hours per day, totalling up to 25 hours per week. The hourly salary is between £20 and £25, commensurate with experience. The position is due to commence from mid to late January, and the family is seeking someone who is not only highly organised but also able to work quickly and with attention to detail.

Candidates must hold a current DBS certificate and ideally have driving experience, as the use of a car may be required for grocery shopping and commuting to the home. There are no pets at the residence, and the family does not require the employee to travel with them.

This role involves caring for natural wood and marble surfaces, and the Housekeeper will be expected to maintain these special materials with due care. While cooking is not a primary responsibility, a bonus is offered if the candidate is willing to prepare meals for the family. There is no requirement for a uniform, and the household maintains an informal and relaxed atmosphere, without specific etiquette rules.

The family offers 20 days of paid holiday entitlement. The household has no other domestic staff, apart from a gardening and window cleaning team.

Main duties of the Part-Time Housekeeper:

• General housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and maintaining the kitchen, living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms.
• Washing dishes and ensuring the kitchen remains clean and well-organised.
• Managing laundry and ironing, including putting clothes away and maintaining wardrobes.
• Dusting, hoovering, and tidying throughout the property to uphold high standards of cleanliness and organisation.
• Caring for special materials, including natural wood and marble surfaces, ensuring they are properly maintained.
• Light maintenance of unused areas, such as the spare bedroom and bathrooms.
• Grocery shopping and other errands, as required, depending on family needs.
• Optional meal preparation for the family, with a bonus offered for those willing to cook.
• Providing additional assistance as required by the family

 

Requirements for this Part-Time Housekeeper job:

• 3 years of housekeeper experience
• Checkable references
• UK working permit
