Job Overview:
A high-net-worth family currently based in Edgbaston, Birmingham, is seeking an experienced full-time live-out housekeeper to join their household on a permanent basis. In March the family will be relocating to Tidbury Green, just outside Solihull, a desirable residential area known for its greenery, privacy, and strong amenities. The area is popular with professional families and offers access to excellent schools, country walks, and reliable commuter links.
The family home is a six-bedroom Victorian residence arranged over three floors and extending to approximately 14,000 sq. ft. In addition to the main living spaces there is a swimming pool and pool area which also fall under the housekeeping remit. Given the scale and age of the property (over 100 years old), the family engages two housekeepers to ensure the home is maintained to the highest private household standards. The successful professional will be working alongside the second housekeeper as part of a wider domestic team including a gardener, private chef and live-in governess. Daily staff meals are provided by the chef.
The family seeks a discreet, meticulous and technically competent housekeeper with experience caring for fine interiors and heritage finishes. The property features marble, wooden flooring, wooden panelling and fine fabrics, therefore correct product use and preservation-focused housekeeping techniques are essential. The household has a preference for products without strong fragrance, and aerosol products are to be applied to cloth rather than directly onto surfaces. Eco-friendly products are preferred wherever appropriate.
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, offered on a live-out basis with an ASAP start. The family will cover travel expenses for face-to-face interviews and is prepared to support relocation for an exceptional candidate. Main duties of the Full-Time Housekeeper:
- Full housekeeping: cleaning, dusting, hoovering, polishing and tidying
- Care of marble, wooden flooring, wooden panelling, and heritage finishes
- Laundry, ironing, wardrobe and fabric care, including fine fabrics
- Proper use of non-abrasive and low-scent products
- Swimming pool area cleaning and presentation
- Liaising with other household staff as required
- Supporting an orderly, well-run private home
Requirements for this Full-Time Housekeeper job:
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in HNW/UHNW households
- Excellent checkable references
- UK working permit
- Full UK driving licence would be a bonus
- Non-smoker
