The successful applicants will be experienced in working on their own initiative and be comfortable with responsibility and have good communication skills as well as be able to work as a team. The principals are at home for a part of the year and they travel a lot. The couple will be expected to work 40 standard hours per week - extra hours will be required when the Principals are in residence. Holidays will be provided when the family will be away.
The estate consists of - the main house, 6 bedrooms, 4 public rooms - a second house is occupied by family - staff cottages – outbuildings - around 35 acres of formal gardens currently being redesigned and recultivated - and woodland.
A cozy separate two bedroom cottage with two bathrooms, a sitting room and a kitchen will be provided for the couple beside the main house. Small domestic pets are welcome.

The Position Type: Live In Couple Job
Salary: 50,000 – 60,000 GBP Gross per year, depends on the candidate experience (Calculate your Salary)
Working Hours:40 hours per week
Location: Renfrewshire, Scotland
Starting Date: ASAP
Due to Brexit we can only accept candidates with a "leave to remain" and/or documentation supporting their stay and permission to work in the UK. Only candidates who have the eligibility to work in the UK will be considered for this role.
Travelling with the family during the school holidays is required. Due to COVID 19, all applicants will already be vaccinated or willing to be vaccinated.
Duties for a Housekeeper:
- Housekeeping of the main house
- Keeping the house clean and tidy and in good decorative order
- Laundry
- Ironing
- Shopping and running errands
- Taking deliveries
- Basic care for antiques and books
- Liaise with the Head Gardener in the overall management of the estate
Duties for a Head Gardener/Maintenance Manager:
- Continuing the horticultural development of the gardens
- Managing contract gardening staff
- Assisting in the recruitment and managing of an Assistant Head Gardener
- Liaising with general and specialist contractors in the development of the ‘new garden’
- Maintaining the household cars
- Competent to drive a digger and other gardening and landscaping equipment
Driving and overseeing trades people are joint responsibilities to be shared by the Couple. A van and a Landrover are provided for the couple’s use.
No cooking or babysitting required.
The principals are open to interview candidates immediately.
Domestic Couple Jobs Minimal Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience a domestic couple
- Checkable references
- Driving licence
